A few words
about Ashley

Ashley Fries is an artist and educator based in Kalamazoo, Michigan, specializing in portraiture. Her practice spans oil paint, watercolor, graphite and other dry media, and reaches into small-scale metalsmithing, jewelry, and digital art and design.

She holds an M.Ed. from Michigan State University and a BFA in Art Education, with an emphasis in painting, from Western Michigan University. She teaches art for Portage Public Schools, designs apparel and artwork with Dubious Arts, and offers private lessons and workshops.
